New Labor Committees (NLC) also called Workers’ Circles, are secondary bodies of the national NLOC organization with a local or regional geographic area of operation running parallel to shop and industrial organizations, NLOC’s main bodies of organization. NLCs are made up of workers, both organized and unorganized, across industries, seeking to broaden and advance the New Labor movement in their area
NLCs carry out the following general tasks:
- Build solidarity across workplaces
- Coordinate organizing campaigns
- Support shop and industrial organizing
- Host trainings and political education
NLCs allow workers in different industries to support one another while building broader working-class unity in their area.
