On 8 August, Palestinian postal worker and trade unionist Imad Temeiza, his family, and their neighbors were attacked by zionist settlers in Idhna, northwest of Hebron in the West Bank, with the full backing and protection of the Israeli Occupation Forces. In response, Imad’s union, the Palestinian Postal Services Workers Union, has issued an emergency appeal to workers around the world to stand with Imad and his family, with Palestinian postal workers, with the people of Idhna, and with the Palestinian people.
For nearly three years, across the West Bank, Gaza, and throughout historic Palestine, the Israeli Occupation Forces have intensified their genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people. In Imad Temeiza’s town of Idhna, Palestinians are assaulted, their property vandalized, their livestock killed, and their crops burned. This campaign of ethnic cleansing, funded and backed by the ruling class of the United States, seeks to drive Palestinians from their land, destroy their communities, and crush their ability to resist occupation and dispossession.
Yet despite enduring daily bombardment, murder, beatings, and famine, the Palestinian people have maintained their steadfast resistance to Zionist occupation and dispossession.
In their appeal, the Palestinian Postal Services Workers Union calls for an end to empty sloganeering and solidarity statements and demands action. They want trade union action. They want workers to use the power we have to confront the forces attacking our fellow workers.

As workers in the United States, the world’s foremost imperialist power, we recognize the urgent need for a labor movement that not only fights to improve workers’ conditions here at home, but can also strike direct blows against U.S. imperialism from inside the belly of the beast, in solidarity with workers and oppressed peoples around the world.
It is our duty to build an organization of postal workers that works in conjunction with other militant logistics workers’ organizations to disrupt the flow of goods to Israel, halt the importation of Israeli products, and refuse to transport products manufactured by companies on the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) list.
